Why Sydney is a mould paradise

Humid summers, mild winters, heavy tree canopy through the northern and inner suburbs, and salt air along the coast create ideal conditions. South-facing walls that never see direct sun, courtyards enclosed by fencing, and roofs shaded by gums are the worst affected.

Once established, the growth holds moisture against the surface — which is how a cosmetic problem becomes a paint failure, a rotting timber problem or a slip hazard.

How treatment works

A biodegradable biocide is applied at low pressure and given time to work through the growth. On heavy lichen we may treat, clean, and treat again. Rinsing follows once the organism is dead — so we're removing dead material rather than scattering live spores across the property.

Slip hazards are the part people underestimate

Algae on a shaded path or a set of tiled steps is genuinely dangerous when wet, and it's a liability issue for strata and commercial property. Treated properly, the surface stays safe far longer than a hose-down achieves.
